SPF 3000

This is the weather forecast today where I live:

This is what we've got so far this morning:

This is what most people imagine my neighborhood is like:

This is closer to reality:

But the GM1 says that the weather makes him think of the hell planet, Crematoria, from "The Chronicles of Riddick" and that he's going to start dressing like this:

I vote I just bring Vin Diesel home and cut out the middleman.

Once I was in 117 degree weather and poured a whole can of regular Coke over my head. It was sort of refreshing, like the commercials promise, but it also made people stay well away from me, which is also very important when one is overheated.

I like the way they had to reiterate the 117 degrees as "Very Hot" in the description as well. Do you think anyone out there believes 117 to be mildly warm?
We live in Houston, so I feel your pain. Shockingly enough, it has been cooler this week (Only about 95 degrees) because we keep getting torrential rain from 1PM-3PM everyday. August though, that is when you wish you had a "summer home" up in Manitoba.

Geez, I'm sorry. I used to live about 200 miles east of you for some 27 years. I definitely feel you pain. Bottled water is your friend. Oh, and air conditioning too, from your home to your car to the mall back to your car and back home. Don't leave home without it.

If the GM1 is going to dress like that... what do you need Vin Diesel for? After all - the GM1 has a brain, I'm never too sure about actors. And although they may be nice to look at - eventually they tend to open their mouths and ruin everything *grin*.

As for the heat - we're "hot" for Chicago - low 90's most days for the last few weeks. I've actually used my A/C longer than a single day in a row - first time that's happened for YEARS! (even if I like it hot - my computers definitely complain and keel over if I don't keep it at least cooled to the 80's in my office) Of course, considering our lack of rain - we may end up with landscape very similar to yours in short order.

Hey - Don't run out to the car barefoot! :-D

Oh man, I'm sorry. I can't even think of anything funny about it. Just try and stay out of the heat.

And actually, I didn't mean this to be a whiny post. I was just fascinated at the idea of such heat, coming from a place of average 76 degrees.
I'm acclimating, too.... we came out of the movies last night and it had dropped to around 98 or so... I said to the GM1, "Isn't that a nice cool breeze?"
Or perhaps I'm just fried.

I do loves my A/C, I does I does.

But it's a "dry" heat. Right? Like that's supposed to make 117 more tolerable. Sheesh! We're lucky here in Central Texas. It only gets up to about 105.
