At what point does something become an obsession?
For the past week, I've watched at least part of "Grosse Pointe Blank" twice a day. Before work and after work. While doing chores and while sitting having coffee. While fully dressed and while... not so fully dressed.
While it hasn't increased my lust for John Cusack, because that was at stratospheric heights to begin with and you cannot increase perfection, it has made me reaffirm my dream career.
Now all I need is a great weapon, a black suit, and some relevant networking.
"I killed the president of Paraguay with a fork. How've you been?"
Ya know, my husband and I love this movie. He says he could be a hitman like JC - no problem. While this disturbs me a bit, I understand. Like JC says in the movie, if he's there to kill someone, they had to have done something to really deserve it. I guess. I just LOVE John Cusack. Awesome. Joan makes the movie, though.
Posted by: Momotrips at November 3, 2004 07:40 AMgreat film and i think that is an obsession, clinically speaking.
Posted by: eddie at November 3, 2004 07:41 AMUh huh...watching Grosse Pointe Blank while "not so fully dressed...."? Yep. Obsession. No doubt about it.
Posted by: Tonya at November 3, 2004 08:08 AMHere is a good question? Is the movie any different while in the various states of dress? Do you get a different feeling each time? Just pondering that..

Posted by: Brass at November 3, 2004 02:33 PMGo for it. Cheesemistress with a gun, coool.
Posted by: Jeremy at November 3, 2004 03:38 PMI love that movie.
And I own the soundtrack. When you blog that you've listened to the soundtrack for 12 hours straight, then I might consider it obsession.
(Then again, you wouldn't believe how much time I spend listening to certain tracks of the Shrek soundtrack, but it's only because my 13-month-old daughter loves the Smash Mouth songs on that one.... You will do weird things to shut up a crying kid in the car, trust me!)
Posted by: Julia at November 3, 2004 03:53 PMThat is on my top 10 list. So, come on back to the old oak tree, acorn! BTW - the soundtracks are AWESOME also - they have permanence in my carousel.
Posted by: Steve at November 3, 2004 03:54 PMJulia and Steve- I have BOTH soundtracks.. yes, there are two. The second was issued at the urging of John Cusack, so rumor goes. And they are in constant rotation.
