Some Of You Will Understand This

Regarding tonight's season's finale of "Deadwood", specifically Al Swearengen's soliloquy on love, betrayal, and commerce vis a vis his childhood:
Shakespeare, you scribbling cocksucker, bow down.
Al is in the fucking house.

Damn, I love that show.

Speak the speech I pray you! Er, something like that. If Ian McShane doesn't win a fistful of Emmys, well, I just don't know what then.

Now. What are we going to do for the next months with no Deadwood? No Sol doing Trixie standing in the hardware (huh huh) store. No florid E.B.-isms. No Jewell explaining, "I'm knocked up." I guess we'll just have to "sally fucking forth" as best we can.

Dammit, Dammit, Dammit! I completely zoned out on the fact that the "finally" was on last night. Thank the lowered taht they will rerun it soon. I sure hope that this show has "legs", 'cuz I love it almost as much as you do.

What makes Al so special is that he delivered that soliloquy after having drunk a shitload of whiskey and while he was ....getting.... er ... serviced.

Take heart. The finale will be aired on June 13th.

Holy crap, Parkway, you are right! I was in mourning a week too soon!
And yes, for Al to be able to be so eloquent in the face of..... distraction (or whatever her name was) makes it all the more admirable.
