You talking about Rachel? She was gone for many, many moons. More than half a year. People thought she was genuinely out of the business, that's why there's excitement now.

Surely you remember our Survivor immunity assignment to write about her and that was already ages ago.

And speaking of excitement, whatever happened to my fantabulous prize?

I have an announcement to make. I'm quitting my blog.

::::cue crickets chirping::::

I have another announcement. Due to popular demand, I'm bringing my blog back.

Thank you for your overwhelming show of support and love.

Jim- You never got the fantabulous prize? Well poop... someone at the post office is a happy guy, then.
Email me the address again and we shall chance it a second time.
(To be fair, I might have addressed it wrongly but it's standard policy to bang on the PO, and who am I to go against standard policy?)

HEHEH. A while back I was toying with the idea of making a "Goodbye Post" template for bloggers to use, bemused crank that I am. You know, with little boxes to check and stuff. Streamlined. Could also have one for the "I'm back" angle.

Whoopty-friggin'-do. I stop blogging for days at a time (and I'm about two months behind in answering e-mail right now) -- I don't hear anybody getting their panties unfurled when I finally decide to post some drivel. :) Maybe if I announced that I am going into hiding and then came back with some fanfare, I could be one of the in-crowd. :)

Every blogger is missed to some degree when they close up shop, but Rachel Lucas helped so many people (she was unbelievably generous with her time and technical assistance) that her circle of friends was much bigger than most.

Not a bigger deal, a bigger group of people happy about the deal.

Ah - okay, I'll remember. If a blogger I like leaves - don't say anything. If a blogger I like comes back - don't say anything. Got it. Man, all these rules to remember...
