Speak Up

Okay, once again a good case of the fidgets has made me bugger around with the colors. I've already gotten one "nay" vote (actually, he said " Makes me want to drive ice picks into my eyes. ")
Never would I want my blogbuddies to go blind, so speak up....
Keep or do-over?

UPDATE: So far we have three six "yes" (albeit one two was were in the "tolerable" category) and one two "no" "nos". We might have four seven yes votes.... is "whale vagina" color a good thing?
UPDATE Subsidiary: The GM1 just got a look at it and said it was PeptoBismol pink. I was thinking more bubble-gummish.
SON OF UPDATE: Alrighty, lightened up the pink a bit but not so much I was giving in. Now it's more of "baby baboon butt pink". Although Anna says:
"The posts on the outside that we can clearly see will be known as the "Majora." And the ones you've hidden that we must open for more will be the "Minora." "
(that was just too damn good to leave sequestered in the comments. )

I LOVE it. I usually get overruled though.

Power to the pinkos! (I think I just inadvertantly changed the meaning of that word).

*vows to make own site even pinker*

Posted by: Tiffany at January 30, 2004 12:25 PM

I had a dream the other night I had fallen into the vagina of a whale.

Looked just like this.

Posted by: Jeff at January 30, 2004 12:40 PM

Jeff, so that's a yes? :)

Posted by: LeeAnn at January 30, 2004 01:00 PM

I was just thinking that the picture next to the post titles looks a lot like a woman's happy place.

I think it looks fine except for the colors and graphics and stuff.

Posted by: Jim at January 30, 2004 01:10 PM

Nope, I was wrong. After further inspection it's not a woman's happy place. It's a kitty's hemorrhagic poopy shooter. Seeing as this is a cheesy place and friendly to rodentia this could be a very appropriate symbol.

Seriously though, it's readable except for the comments. Grey text on pink is nasty to read. My personal preference goes very far away from pink so keep that in mind when reading the previous comment. ;-)

Posted by: Jim at January 30, 2004 01:15 PM

I can fix the grey text on comments. The poopy shooter is kind of like art... you know it when you see it. :)

Posted by: LeeAnn at January 30, 2004 01:25 PM

I understand they use this exact color in some prisons because it keeps prisoners calm. I feel very mellow here.

Posted by: Bob at January 30, 2004 01:33 PM

I've carefully considered Jim's comments and I have a question. Jim, what are you wearing?

Posted by: Lance Rodly at January 30, 2004 01:37 PM

"Screeming pink monkey ass" color.
I think that would go into the tolerable catagory.

Posted by: zenwanderer at January 30, 2004 02:12 PM

I didn't know that whale's vagina is blue. Wow... you learn something new every day.

Seriously, it's easily readable so it's okay.

Posted by: Lynn S at January 30, 2004 02:14 PM

Other than the tortured cat-dog-ferret in the picture on the right, it looks fine.

As a regular reader, I actually don't worry too much about whatever color the site happens to be on any given day, for I know that within a week it will be different again.

What was that Stevie Nicks lyric about the sea changing colors, but the sea remains the same? Does LeeAnn have a Karaoke moment she needs to confess?

Posted by: Ted K at January 30, 2004 02:15 PM

Ted K- That creature to the right was my mother's prized Siamese cat from hell. Her life was perfect until I learned to walk.
One day, someone opened the door and she zipped out disappeared forever.... imagine that.

Posted by: LeeAnn at January 30, 2004 02:25 PM

Gotta vote for less pink. I like the pink in the header but the rest? Not so much.

Posted by: bill at January 30, 2004 03:39 PM

Lance - Right now I'm wearing a navy blue polo, sweatpants, white calf socks, black boxers and a delicate black camisole.

Just kidding, of course. There's no way I'd wear boxers with my camisole.

Posted by: Jim at January 30, 2004 04:03 PM

OK, let's do this -- keep the color.

The posts on the outside that we can clearly see will be known as the "Majora." And the ones you've hidden that we must open for more will be the "Minora."

Posted by: Anna at January 30, 2004 04:59 PM

Anna officially wins for Best Comment Ever Ever.
You can have either a wheel of cheese to be eaten in your honor or my firstborn.
Excuse me whilst I go change m'drawers.

Posted by: LeeAnn at January 30, 2004 05:17 PM

Just change the author to Blog Princess Barbie and its perfect.

Posted by: Stephen Macklin at January 30, 2004 05:28 PM

Stephen- Please, let's not discuss my sexual fantasies here.... :)

Posted by: LeeAnn at January 30, 2004 05:47 PM

Bless you. And I've just got to say one more thing...

That is one righteous Siamese boner in that pic.

Posted by: Anna at January 30, 2004 05:54 PM

PS: One of your loyal readers just sent this to my mail, LeeAnn:

"Anna, you idiot, that's a foot."

my reply...

"Maybe 8 or 9 inches, but no way in hell that's a foot."

Posted by: Anna at January 30, 2004 06:02 PM

Aw man... everybody else got in all the good comments before I even got here! BTW - Anna - excellent labelling strategy. *G*

Oh - the Pepto and bubblegum thing - I thought they were the same. Didn't they make bubblegum out of Pepto... so you could eat bad things, chew the gum, and feel better? Or was I chewing the wrong gum?

Posted by: Teresa at January 30, 2004 06:35 PM

On my f'd up monitor the color looks kinda like egg nog with cinnimon that's been sitting by the furnace for a while. I'm not sure I like the banner, though. Too cutesy. That's supoosed to be a cat? Looks more a bad mating between a dog and a mouse. Hmmm.

Posted by: Tuning Spork at January 30, 2004 08:13 PM

Spork- the beast in the photo with the adorable little girl is a cat. The beast in the banner is allegedly a mouse.
I am a hamster, and my mother smelt of elderberries.

Posted by: LeeAnn at January 30, 2004 09:05 PM

Did someone wave their privates at your auntie, LeeAnn?

I kinda like it, hon. Especially the mousie at the top. He's cute. And, a little sassy looking

Posted by: Da Goddess at January 30, 2004 09:37 PM

This blog wouldn't be the same if every now and then you didn't say Holy crap, what has LeeAnn done to it now?!

Posted by: Pixy Misa at January 30, 2004 09:44 PM

A Technicolor Nightmare.
Just do the pink logo and the rodent, and don't mix the blue n pink; has the same effect on me as red text on a blue background.

Posted by: Greg at January 30, 2004 09:55 PM

I like the pink in the body (Wow, does that remind me of an old, tasteless [ooops - probably a bad word choice there] joke), but the smoosh of pinks and reds in the banner is sort of like getting punched in the eye by that swishy, long blond haired guy (the Tom Petty sort of looking guy) who comments snottily on women's fashion on TV talk shows.

The previous sentence was exhausting. So sorry.

Posted by: Parkway Rest Stop at January 31, 2004 01:47 AM

Greg- What blue? I don't have any blue here anymore.

I think having a lot of color must be a chick thing, as guys tend to have white background, black text, a little picture here and there.
Girls have colors and things match or coordinate.
It's like redecorating the bathroom without the smell.

Parkway- It wasn't supposed to be red, it was allegedly hot pink, but I'll see what I can do with it. :)

Posted by: LeeAnn at January 31, 2004 05:47 AM

I like it, although from now on I'll always feel a little uncomfortable around Siamese cats.

Posted by: Ted at January 31, 2004 06:24 AM

I'm with Tiffany--I need to make my blog pinker now to compete...

Posted by: Susie at January 31, 2004 09:18 AM

Other than a whale's vagina, the only time I've seen this color is at the end of a dog's erection.

Okay, maybe that comment was a bridge too far.

Posted by: Jeff at February 1, 2004 05:52 PM

I vote yes. I spent this weekend painting my daughter's room about 30% lighter this shade... looks good to me!

Posted by: another Jeff at February 2, 2004 09:48 AM

Ok, the color is a little better. But that picture, wew, that little pug dog sure has a giant tool. Hope that little girl didn’t get any cheese on her dress ;-)

Posted by: Azygos at February 2, 2004 04:59 PM

Hey, I like it! :) And....I agree with Pixy Misa, you just never know what look Lee's going to come up with next! ;)

Posted by: Tonya at February 3, 2004 05:36 AM

I like it. It's LeeAnn's way of saying "I am a woman. Here my roar. Or at least be bithc-slapped by the pinkage, at any rate."

Proof that every little girl can grow up to be a princess after all. Complete with tutu.
