Punctuationally Yours

Beth over at She Who Will Be Obeyed has a very good post on that whole hypenated American syndrome that afflicts so many.
Once more, someone else has said what I would have said had I thought at the time to say it.
And she says it very well, too.

It was neat-o 30-40 years ago when many of us had parents or grandparent who came from overseas. My grandma came from Germany. But, while I find lineage interesting, I am surely not a German-American. America rocks...she can be imperfect, but at least I don't lose my testicles for criticising the government.

I'm a first generation American (my mother is from Germany & my father from Slovakia) and I don't use hyphens, either. Neither do they, come to think of it....
